PGAV Architects Announces Practice Leaders
PGAV Architects is pleased to announce the promotion of key staff members to leadership roles in the firm. Kathy Achelpohl, Tony Atchity, Jennifer Goeke, and Andrea Brundis will take on the role of practice leader. In addition, Carol Tracy has joined the firm as Director of Marketing and Business Development.
Kathy Achelpohl, AIA, LEED AP; Practice Leader
PGAV Architects is pleased to announce Kathy’s promotion to Practice Leader. Kathy is a licensed architect with 30+ years’ experience and specialized expertise in programming and planning. She has dedicated her career to working with institutional clients; her work includes notable projects locally and nationally. At PGAV she works with colleges and universities to plan and design diverse project types, including 21st century academic teaching facilities, interdisciplinary research facilities and libraries, among others. Recent work includes projects for the University of Missouri, University of Kansas, Kansas State University and Oklahoma State University. PGAV clients have tremendous respect for Kathy’s leadership, wealth of knowledge and holistic perspective. Kathy developed her passion for architecture while studying at KU. She has served as an adjunct faculty member and currently serves as Past Chair of the Professional Advisory Board for the KU School of Architecture and Design.
Tony Atchity, RA, LEED AP; Practice Leader
PGAV Architects is pleased to announce Tony’s promotion to Practice Leader. Tony is a licensed architect with 20 years’ experience. He has specialized expertise in the planning and design of laboratories and mission critical facilities. He is an important member of the PGAV team working with leading scientific research institutes, colleges and universities, and government agencies to design next generation research labs, teaching facilities, and workplace environments. Clients include Stowers Institute for Medical Research, Noble Research Institute, Kansas State University, Oklahoma State University and University of Missouri, to name a few. From initial planning through to the details, Tony has a keen understanding of the challenging requirements associated with these highly complex projects. His broad understanding of architecture and ability to grasp client needs and translate client needs into exceptional design solutions adds immense value and makes the projects he touches better.
Andrea Brundis, NCIDQ; Practice Leader
PGAV Architects is pleased to announce Andrea’s promotion to Practice Leader. Andrea is an NCIDQ certified interior designer with 10 years of experience. She leads PGAV’s interior design practice. Andrea and her team of designers work across diverse project types to plan and design compelling environments that are mission-focused, brand-centric, and welcoming, inclusive, and accessible. Recent work includes renovations to the historic Folly Theater, the transformation of Kansas State University’s Hale Library, and MidAmerica Nazarene University’s new student center. PGAV clients truly appreciate Andrea’s attention to detail. Her command of design, materials, and furniture is noteworthy, lending to her clients’ confidence in the designs she creates.
Jennifer Goeke, RA; Practice Leader
PGAV Architects is pleased to announce Jennifer’s promotion to Practice Leader. Jennifer is a registered architect with 30 years’ experience. She has specialized expertise in the management of large, complex projects. Jennifer leads integrated teams collaborating on diverse project types to create extraordinary places for working, learning, and connecting. Notable projects include Lenexa Civic Center, Olathe Police Headquarters, Overland Park Farmers’ Market and Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium. Her compassion for her clients and dedication to architectural design while providing exceptional service has been central to the success of many PGAV projects. With her infectious enthusiasm and tireless energy, Jennifer is a true champion of her clients’ visions. Putting the needs of her clients first, she collaborates with her teams to ensure concept designs all the way through to the smallest of details are thoughtfully considered and executed and client expectations exceeded.
