The Tale of Hale started a new chapter with a virtual ribbon cutting and re-opening, celebrating the restoration of this Kansas State University landmark. In the summer of 2018, a fire broke out on the roof of Hale Library, activating the building’s sprinkler system. The building and it’s contents suffered extensive fire, smoke and water damage.

Hosted by Dean of Libraries Lori Goetsch, the presentation went though the history of the library. Unlike most stories, this one is still going strong. Thanks to K-State leadership, and a host of dedicated companies including PGAV, Hale Library is returning to service ready to meet the demands of 21st century students. Following the fire, PGAV was commissioned to lead the repair and reconstruction effort for the 405,000 GSF facility. After the building was stabilized, and a thorough evaluation of the damage performed, PGAV developed a master plan to reimagine and reconstruct Hale Library as the center for 21st century learning at K-State. Once the master plan was completed, PGAV transitioned immediately into design and construction phase services that brought the Library back into service as quickly as possible.
