PGAV collaborated with Johnson County Community College campus leaders and the college’s Mathematics and Science Department to develop a comprehensive plan for modernizing science education and applied learning labs in multiple buildings on campus.
The modernized facilities are equipped for 21st century education in the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Astronomy, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, and Physical Science. New flex research labs for the Life Science and Physical Sciences support the colleges’ faculty-guided undergraduate research program.
The design solution addresses key goals to improve layout and functionality of the teaching labs, right-size lab support spaces, and address aging infrastructure. In addition, PGAV provided design services for the expansion and modernization of the Classroom Laboratory Building and the Science Building interior renovation and systems modernization project. These improvements position the college at the forefront of community college education and empowers students with the skills and experience needed to move forward with their studies.
