Linda Hall Library is the world’s foremost independent research library devoted to science, engineering and technology. In response to growth in its collections and an aging facility, the Library retained PGAV to develop a comprehensive facilities evaluation, renovation and expansion plan for its unique facility, situated within an arboretum and surrounded by the UMKC Campus.
Working with the Library’s leadership, PGAV developed a prioritized plan including a three-story addition devoted entirely to stack space. In addition, the project included improvements to the existing facilities. Overall, the addition and renovation project successfully addressed critical facilities needs that have dramatically improved the patron experience, public outreach, staff work environments, and collections management, as well as addressing comprehensive infrastructure upgrades.
