MRIGlobal is one of the nation’s leading research institutes conducting contract research for government and industry in areas including national security, life sciences, and agriculture and food safety. The comprehensive renovation of MRIGlobal’s headquarters in Kansas City responds to the client’s goal to solve space constraints due to rapid growth and provide a highly flexible, interdisciplinary and sustainable research environment.
Operating within the same footprint, the renovated facility has 50 percent more laboratory space, offices for an additional 150 staff, and energy saving features that reduce the facility’s annual carbon footprint by 600 metric tons. The project was one of the first renovated laboratory facilities to receive LEED certification.
