As traditional stacks for bound collections within Oklahoma State University’s Edmon Low Library expanded, spaces for reading, student resource centers, and group study were pushed out of the main campus library. PGAV, in association with Studio Architecture of Oklahoma City, worked with Oklahoma State to develop a long-term archival storage solution for housing low circulating library materials. A new 17,800 SF high-density storage facility accommodating 1.5M volumes was constructed off campus which allowed valuable space at the heart of campus to be reallocated for student-centered use. The Library Auxiliary was designed for expansion to a full capacity of 6M volumes.
