The Stephenson Life Sciences Research Center realizes a new vision for interdisciplinary life science research at the University of Oklahoma. Located on OU’s Research Campus, the facility houses laboratory and administrative functions for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and support services, including a state-of-the-art NMR suite.
The building supports the University’s goal of improved research productivity through a focus on transparency, flexible floor plans, and spaces that support multidisciplinary collaboration. The facility features extensive use of interior glass, modular open plan laboratories, shared resources and strategically placed work areas to encourage communication. The design incorporates energy saving strategies including lab ventilation heat recovery, high-performance building envelope, high efficiency mechanical systems and daylighting control.
