MNU Meets Mabee Challenge for Copeland Athletic Complex
Congratulations to the MidAmerica Nazarene University community for meeting the $2 million Mabee Challenge Grant to help fund the $12 million Copeland Athletic Complex! The project, an important step in realizing the University’s goal to be a first-choice institution of higher learning, was outlined in a master plan developed by PGAV in partnership with MNU and A.L. Huber General Contractor.
The overall campus plan shows new buildings and building expansions anchored by a New Campus Center at the gateway to campus and athletic improvements anchored by a new Stadium Complex as the cornerstones of the MNU campus. The master plan provides exciting solutions for strengthening community through improvements to campus life, student services, recruiting, and the student-athlete experience. The new athletics facilities will create a dynamic activity hub at the south end of the MNU campus including a 400-meter running track supporting all field events, a new football field that can serve multiple sports, a new 1,000-seat stadium, and locker rooms for all outdoor sports. The Cunningham Center, the new 44,600 SF campus center also designed by PGAV, opened last Fall, and has quickly become the center of campus life.
